Two new publications by Odd-Arne Jacobsen

World premiere in Tromsø Kulturhus January 22nd with the MIN Ensemble, Odd-Arne Jacobsen (guitar) and Edvard N. Debess (bass) in conjunction with the 2007 Northern Light Festival. Bass and string quintet is close to my guitar-heart. In a world where little music for such an instrumentation exists, this is my contribution. String quintet and guitar is a beautitul and underused instrumentation. For Strings Only can be played by both jazz and classical guitarists (and all other guitar players).

In conjunction with the 2004 summer exhibition Eros & Thanatos at the Munch Museum, I was allowed to be close to the art of Norway's foremost artists; Gustav Vigeland and Edvard Munch. Both Munch and Vigeland has this lonely and timeless perspective that often characterizes great art. The premiere included a string quartet from the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and Trond Olaf Larsen on the bassoon.

Oslo, Mai 2004.
